SSRun is a 2-button platformer where you can't stop running and sometimes you flippy dippy the gravity.

Made in 5 days for the 35th 8-bits to infinity "Run" jam. This is also a bit of a look into developing simple mobile games, which I hadn't tried before.


---Mobile Controls (technically mouse controls):

Tap left side of screen to jump/double-jump/walljump.

Tap right side of screen to turn around or stomp while airborne.

---Keyboard Controls:

Press X to jump/double-jump/walljump.

Press Z to turn around or stomp while airborne.

You can press Escape to exit the windows version. (or crash the browser version for fun, idk you do you)


Tips:

There are a few checkpoints. Stomping is crucial to maneuvering some obstacles. The girder/line background sprites are good for lining up certain jumps. There is also a speedrun timer starting and ending with the orangey gates.


Credits (More detail):

All code and the character assets was made for this jam.

The tileset (blue stuff and glimpse of outside) was borrowed from a previous game of mine, as were all sound effects.

The Music (Run, Jump, Duck) was made by Ansimuz and was hosted on OpenGameArt.org.

"Better Minimal WebGL Template" for Unity is by Seansleblanc here. A late decision to fix for mobile devices on itch.io so not included in-game. Worked perfectly though!
